Matrix PDC drill bits are cutting-type drills where diamond compact is welded to the drill matrix by brazing. These bits are sintered with tungsten carbide powder, brazed with artificial polycrystalline diamond composite sheets, and use natural diamond to maintain diameter.
Steel body PDC bits are machined from nickel, chromium, and molybdenum alloys. After heat treatment, drill holes are created in the bit body, artificial polycrystalline diamond composite sheets are inserted, and columnar carbon tungsten gauge is used.
